COVID-19 NOTICE

We know these are challenging times.  The health and welfare of our staff and clients is of utmost importance to our firm, and we will continue to monitor the situation regarding COVID-19 and provide updates as necessary. 

Tax season continues, and even if there is an extension by the treasury, it is important not to procrastinate.  Our recommended deadline for having your personal information into our office was March 13th. We understand that some clients have had trouble meeting this deadline. If you have not yet sent us the documents for your 2019 tax return preparation, we ask that you still send them to us as soon as possible.  It is important to do this even if the IRS grants an extension.

We have instituted protocols and safety measures in our office to practice as much social distancing as possible.  

Effective Monday March 16, 2020 we have instituted the following procedures for the foreseeable future:

  1. The door to our office will be locked. If you want to drop off information, please use the mail slot in the door.
  2. Our preferred methods for receiving data are the following, in order of recommendation:
    1. If you have access to a scanner - secure upload through our website.  Website address karen@kmk-cpa.com, resource tab, secure send.  It is very easy, and instructions are provided
    2. Direct mail
    3. Drop off through mail slot
  3. There will be no in office meetings.  All clients with currently scheduled meetings will be called to make alternate arrangements.  If a meeting/consultation is necessary we can arrange a telephone call/conference.
  4. We will be mailing all client returns/documents when complete.  There will be no in office pickup.  We can also securely send encrypted pdf versions if that is your preference.

We are committed to maintaining all appropriate sanitary, health and safety measures and encourage clients to follow guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.  We have had a staff meeting to discuss all best practices for health and hygiene.
